Update of the translation of the game relevant to patch 7.3 (Ukrainian, French, Polish, English): Link
Installation: download the file and place in the directory with the game.
Delete: the file will be deleted automatically when you install the next patch.

Greetings stalkers! My first question - Will the work in progress translation to english be available to us by chance? I know the release -just- happened, however I am not looking forward to translating using my phones camera but I will if I must! 

We are used to installing the translation one patch at a time, as was done with OP-2.0

Чики Брики, Hey. Yes, English is already included in OP-2.1. You can change it in the settings. Just keep in mind that the translation is not 100%

hey! are you guys looking for new dudes to help with the OP 2.1 translation? i've got the OLR 2.5 rus-to-eng translation under my belt. besides, helping out with finalizing the OP 2.1 english localization would be good practice for me.

Good evening stalkers!    I just installed the game, i used ''english'' as option for the installer but the game is in Russian.

I'm kinda confused...english is not available yet or ( hopefully) i missed something?

First of all, don’t forget to restart the game after changing language.
But anyway, English translation is still in progress, some text translated, some not. UI, weapon descriptions, most part of cyclic tasks etc already done, but there is a lot of work still.
Anyway, please tell us about any bugs in English translation, we will appreciate any help. Have a nice play.

You go to options, video, scroll down and it says language. Restart of game is needed though.

Hello CP 2.1 team. I get bad micro-freezes/stuttering with CP 2.1

 

It does not matter if i play on minimum settings, with lowest textures, or on static lightning. I get same stuttering even at 200 FPS. I also get the same stuttering in very small levels (the Cave) even after i kill all the mutants. It is very hard to play the mod with such microfreezes. Stuttering occurs during movement, not in every moment, but still very often. It is quite unpleasant.

 

I played Stalker mods such as Lost Alpha, NS 2016 or SGM 2,2 with no problems.

 

Config:  Win 7  64,  Nvidia GTX 750, 8 GB Ram, Intel i5-3330S

 

No programs, internet or antivirus running when playing. When playing CPU is not used on full and Ram is not used on full.

Stuttering will be for about 1 - 1.5 game days. Reason is that the game filling smart-terrains with NPCs at all levels. Despite that the process is distributed in time, you still can feel some lags. But soon it will end.
Also check that torrent, and any other heavy (for CPU and HDD) applications are closed.

 

Also, my experience - this site webpages unfortunately are not optimized, so my Firefox eats about 10-11% of CPU at this page. So close browser or any unoptimized pages and everything gonna be all right.

Does the selection of language also dictate the language of the voice overs? Mine are currently in English, how to switch to Russian? More atmospheric that way.

Are you sure, that you have english voice playing exactly CP 2.1?

So far in the cordon, Wolf, Sidorovich, and Petruha use English voice from original SoC. I remember in OP-2, it was not.

It is rather jarring hearing the english voiceovers mixed in with the russian ones -on top of having an unfinished translation- Loving 2.1 so far though, much love to those that worked so hard on it!

The serious micro freezing and stuttering (even on minimum settings in empty Cave level with 200 FPS) is caused due to the new CP 2.1 engine not properly controlling synchronization between Video Card and CPU. It will probably occur on configurations where there is difference between GPU and CPU and how fast they are. In such cases GPU will not keep up with CPU or CPU will not keep up with GPU, causing microfreezings, as the GPU waits for the CPU to catch up.

 

The solution: use FPS limiter and cap FPS at some number, for example 60. Then microfreezing and stuttering disappears, as long as it stays as 60 FPS exactly. But it is still not good solution, as everytime for some reason FPS drops slightly below 60, the microfreezing and stuttering starts again until it goes back to 60 FPS.

 

I hope that the developers can fix this engine issue, i never had that occur in Lost Alpha, SGM 2.2, NS 2016, and many other stalker mods.

I haven't noticed any micro stuttering on my end, and my rig is a toaster nowadays (I5-2500k)  Always cap it at 60 fps in every mod to avoid the screen tearing. Guess I'm just lucky. 

 

Although I may hold off on playing more until a more complete translation becomes available.
